Dr. Grodman founded BioReference Laboratories, Inc. in December, 1981 and has been Chairman, President and CEO since its formation. With over 1,900 employees and over $300 million in revenues in 2008, BioReference is the largest clinical laboratory operating in the Northeast region. In addition to full-service offerings in the NYC super-region, BioReference maintains focused national markets in correctional healthcare, in oncology specializing in hematopathology, under its GenPath label, and in genetics through GeneDx.
Dr. Grodman has championed the development of improved e-connectivity using technology supporting the expansion and enhancement of data used in the diagnosis and evaluation of health care. Dr. Grodman has long recognized the tremendous role laboratory data plays in healthcare information processing. BioReference has developed information technology solutions designed to reduce healthcare costs and improve quality performance based on all available healthcare data. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the American Clinical Laboratories Association.
Richard Faherty is the Chief Information Officer at BRLI and the President of PSIMedica, the Company’s clinical knowledge management initiative. He also supervises CareEvolve, the Company's eHealthcare connectivity initiative. Mr. Faherty has over 15 years experience designing and developing specialized healthcare software. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Fordham Law School. After practicing law for a number of years, he became involved in Information Technology and continues to be involved with complex data management, networking solutions, and application and data distribution since that time.
Dr. Maurer is the Medical Director of PSIMedica. He is an Attending physician at the New York/ Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Maurer received his Medical Degree from the Mt. Sinai Medical Center and did his Residency and Fellowship at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Maurer has performed and published significant research in the area of Congestive Heart Failure. Dr. Maurer oversees the research development of new products.
Ms. Bowman has over 25 years experience in the medical quality and cost management
of Government subsidized and Commercial populations.
Ms. Bowman manages the client operations and training areas of PSIMedica. She is a graduate of New York University's School of Education and Nursing and is certified in risk management.
Peter B. Gillman has over 10 years experience in designing and developing electronic medical records and practice management systems. He has served on the AMIA executive committee on Computerized Medical Records. In addition, he has held faculty positions in Medical and Nursing Informatics. Dr. Gillman has also served as the Director of the Office of Outcomes Management at the Children's Seashore House of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
